Jesus Sends Out the Twelve | Mere Interest or Willing Obedience?

Jesus didn’t just call the twelve—He equipped them and sent them. They were told to go without the resources they would normally depend on, trust God to provide, proclaim the good news, and remain faithful even when people rejected their message.
In Luke 9:1–9, we’re reminded that Jesus still calls His people to kingdom work today. We don’t have to be capable enough on our own, control how others respond, or guarantee the results. Our responsibility is to trust the One who sends us and be obedient to what He has called us to do.
Herod heard about Jesus and became interested in Him. The disciples heard Jesus and obeyed Him. The question for us is the same: Are we merely interested in Jesus, or are we actually willing to obey Him?
